PSU News and commentary
Penn State closed all of the grass parking lots for today's game against Michigan State due to snow. Since 80% of football parking is on grass lots, this basically means that game day parking will be a mess. All parking will be directed to remote lots and shuttle buses will take fans to and from Beaver Stadium. And remote lots means remote. The closest lots are at Innovation Park which is a long walk but a relatively short shuttle ride to the stadium. The furthest remote lots are all the way across campus at the Penn State Golf Course lots, at Park Forest Baptist Church and at Mountain View Country Club in Boalsburg. The good news is that it is a 3:30 kick-off so everyone will have time to deal with what is sure to be a confusing traffic situation. Also since the game is over Thanksgiving break and the temperature will be about 35 degrees at game time, attendance will be lighter than usual for ranked Big 10 opponent. The bad news is that this will cut pre and post game tailgating to a minimum.

The temperature at kick-off for the Penn State - Temple game is going to be in the low 30's. It shouldn't be an issue for players since the sun is shining bright today. But it will be brutal for the fans. This is one of those days when the beer is getting slushy in the can. Toes are like ice before the game even starts. Days like this are when you really miss the good old days when open fires were allowed at tailgates. Huddling around a small propane grill just doesn't cut it on days like this.
The NCAA named the Penn State student section the best in college football. It is about time NCAA acknowledged that when it comes to student fans PSU is the best.
