Beaver Stadium will be opening a half hour early today to allow for extra security screenings in light of last weeks terrorist attacks in Paris. Fans attending the game can expect extra scrutiny if they are wearing heavy coats and bulky outer wear. Realistically a Penn State game in November is not exactly an ideal target. It is cold and always has a fair amount of security. Plus while the game will get TV coverage, it is hardly the marquee match up of the day. College Game Day is in Columbus for the Ohio State - Michigan State match up which has serious implications for both the Big 10 and National Championship. While the extra security will be in place, the bigger issue for fans attending the game will be the bitter cold. The high temperature in State College is predicted to be 45 degrees and it will be much colder at kick off. The best strategy is to dress in layers and hope for a good game. The cold weather is always worse when Penn State is getting hammered on the field instead of in the tailgate lots.
